Words Of Reflection From Pastor Smith to the Zion Baptist Church Family

"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."   (Isaiah 55:10-11 ESV)

God's Word is always successful in accomplishing its objective. And what objective is that? Very simply it's the transformation of our lives and the building up of the Lord's church. My motivation for ministry has always been the miracle of "seeing lives change." The Word of God is what has changed and continues to change my life. My greatest desire as a Pastor/Preacher/Teacher is to see lives transformed through the hearing and doing of the Word of God. The Lord has shown me that my labor is not in vain.

The past ten years have been the most fruitful in all of my almost twenty years of ministry. I am able to see the spiritual growth and maturity in our congregation . This is the goal for which I am constantly striving to reach. I am grateful to God for all He has done in, through, and for us these past ten years. Zion was a great church when I arrived and continues to be til this day.

The divine prescription for the church is found in the Word of God. It is my prayer that we as a church family would continue to take, eat, and drink as prescribed by the Lord. I am truly grateful to Zion for being the kind of church family that every pastor would like to be a part of. You continue to be a blessing to the Smith family!

It is my prayer that we would abide in His Word and continue to bring forth fruit, more fruit, and much fruit. Thank you Zion for allowing me to pastor with joy and not with grief.
